The officials of Manipur, a small state of India, leaving for Korea

Manipur a tine state of India concentrated in North-East Region, is going to showcase their treasure, making an initiative to have a new relationship with one of the small and outstanding country in the East Asia calld Korea.







Imphal, February 05 2010: A delegation of State officials led by Education Minister L Jayantakumar would be leaving for South Korea on February 22 on a five-day visit to meet Government officials of that country to hold discussion on extension of co-operation in various areas including education. According to an official source, through the Embassy of Republic of Korea in India, Minister of Education, Science and Technology of South Korea send an invitation to the State Government for despatching an official delegation to discuss the matter. During their stay in South Korea, the delegation led by Education Minister L Jayantakumar would impress upon the Asian country with the Look East Policy of the Government of India. The delegation is also expected to visit some of the schools and universities in South Korea to observe how information technology is being successfully incorporated in the education of the students there. Among other area of possible co-operation between Manipur and South Korea, the delegation would be taking up issues related to promotion of student exchange programme and sending teachers from Manipur for teaching English in South Korea.
