POSCO : one of the Korean valuable asset.

South Korea's POSCO is one of the biggest giant steel company in the world.

The Pohang Iron and Steel Company, or POSCO is based in Pohang, South Korea. It is the world's second largest steel maker by market value[1] and Asia’s most profitable steelmaker. With the strong Korean shipbuilding and automobile industry dependent on POSCO for steel, POSCO has been seen as the bedrock of Korea's industrial development over the past 40 years.

With increasing global competition, POSCO looked to China and India for new opportunities and trying to expand its own reach. By 2006, POSCO had 26 subsidiaries and invested over $2.4 billion in fresh investment on mainland China, especially in galvanized and stainless steel to supply global auto and appliance makers that have opened plants there. In 2006, POSCO started operating the Zhangjiagang Pohang Stainless Steel(ZPSS) steel mill capable of producing 600,000 tons of stainless steel and hot-rolled products annually in China’s Jiangsu Province (according to the wikipedia source).

As a result, POSCO became the first foreign firm operating an integrated stainless steel mill in China, handling the entire production process from smelting iron ore to finished products, including the cold rolled stainless plant it already operates.

We can say that size does not matter if you have will and ability to do something like South Korea which is small in size and neighbouring with the powerful countries like China, japan, Russia . Although, South Korea is growing faster.

Innocent Smile

Serinity behind the innocent and pure heart of young child created by the heavenly nature as a boon to we human being.

An innocent smile which can clam the temper and make us realise how true they are..nothing is hidden but pure and clear heart they have.

Wish, we all can be like this..no guilt, no jealousy, no over desire....

Korean -Indian mixed and match combination food.

Chak-hou or the brown sticky rice is famous in Manipu and Manipuri people love this brown rice. Because the Chak-hou of Manipur has a unique flavour and color. It is rare to find in other place in India, except North-East region specially in Manipur. Because in India Basmati is famous which is quite contrary with the brown sticky rice of Manipur.

The Manipuri people eat Cak-hou during the festive season or in big fest, prepared as sweetdish and eat together with Kheer ( a kind of sweet dish prepared with white rice , milk , sugar, butter plus dry nuts like coconut, dry grapes and cashnut). We consider Chak-hou as one of the rare and rich food item.

In Korea, when I visit to various Sikdang or the small resturant run by the "Ajuma's" I frequently come across this rare brown color rice sreved as main item to eat with the sopu or curries. And I always surprised to see this rice and always reminded my home town "Chak-hou".

Chak-hou with Mangal Uti and Singju

Today when I go to my senior place again I got surprised by surprised. First they cooked Chak-hou as the main item to eat for our lunch plus another surprised which is the Utsoi or the tender baby bamboo cooked with dry peas which is known as Uti in our local name. One of the famous curry among the Meitei and Manipuri people.

And last surprised of the day is the Singju in our local name or in common it is one kind of salad mixed with raw leafy vegetable mixed with fremented fish paste with chilli and salt with seasme and dried peas powder.

Korean Kimchi : Varities of Kimchi made mouthwatering of every onlooker's.

How much do we know about the Korean Kimchi and how many many varities does Korean Kimchi have. Korean Kimchi is worldwide famous and one of the nutritious side-dish.
one of numerous traditional Korean pickled dishes made of vegetables with varied seasonings. A common manifestation is the spicy baechu (chard) variety. Kimchi is the most common panchan or side dish, in South Korea and many South Korean communities and locales. Kimchi is also a common ingredient and combined with other ingredients to make dishes such as kimchi stew (kimchi jjigae) and kimchi fried rice (kimchi bokkeumbap).

Kimchi varieties are determined by the main vegetable ingredients and the mix of seasonings used to flavor the kimchi. The most popular type of kimchi is the baechu (also known as Chinese cabbage) variety but there are many regional and seasonal varieties. Popular variants include ggakdugi which is a kimchi made with cubed radish, pa-kimchi (made with scallions), chonggak-kimchi and oisobagi (hangul: 오이소박이), and gat-kimchi (hangul: 갓김치), boochoo-kimchi (hangul: 부추김치), a cucumber kimchi with hot and spicy seasoning. Kkaennip (hangul: 깻잎) kimchi features layers of perilla and other spices.

The Kimchi Field Museum in Seoul has documented 187 historic and current varieties of kimchi. Although the most common seasonings include brine, scallions and spices, ingredients can be replaced or added depending on the type of kimchi being made. Common seasonings also include, ginger, chopped radish, garlic, salted shrimp (hangul: 새우젓), and aekjeot (hangul: 액젓, fish sauce).

In korea there are four season, Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Each season has its own significance. This year due to heavy winter the spring has come a bit late.Even though, in each and every corner flower start blooming specially the cherry flowers start showering on the roadside and sneding the warm whises of the arrival of spring season.
