PRIDE OF NORTH-EAST OF INDIA - MIZO DANCE OF MIZORAM ENTER GUINESS BOOK

LONGEST DANCE IN THE WORLD

Mizoram entered Guiness Book of World Records as 10,736 young men and women danced together on Chapchar Kut, March 12, 2010. The Aizawl City turned into a dance floor as participants spread across the main road of the city and Assam Rifle Ground. The dance 'Cheraw' with 671 sets has become the largest and longest dance ensemble in the world.

Cheraw or bamboo dance is famous among the Mizos, though Kuki/Zomi-Chin ethnic group(who are from the same ancestor) too have the same type of dance.. hats off to Mizoram for making the world record
