As more holidaymakers turn to camping in the summer, Goseong in particular is
proving a hit among nature lovers with its towering cliffs and views overlooking
the sea.
Created in March 2012, a campsite in the region's Namsan Park faces the ocean and rents out caravans of various sizes -- for groups of four, six or eight people. They are all equipped with air conditioners, TVs and cooking utensils, and have an outside deck where campers can enjoy barbecues.
A nearby walking path offers majestic views of the sea, especially at sunset, while a dinosaur-themed museum adds to the excitement and family fun. The area boasts the first set of fossilized dinosaur footprints ever discovered in the country.
This is just one of a handful of reenergizing campsites in which to while away a few days in the province. Other standouts include one in Nakwon Farm in Busan, and an auto camping park called Baenaegol ("Valley of Pears") in neighboring Ulsan.
Baenaegol is about the size of a football stadium, and its dense forest and pear trees create a perfect environment for meditation and recuperation.
Those who opt for Nakwon Farm in Busan can also enjoy bathing in the woods and the scent of exotic flowers planted around the farm. Children can have fun at the camp's outdoor swimming pool.
