The Korean Bomb Sell Girls’ Generation named best dressed in Japan

K-pop group Girls’ Generation Wednesday won a best-dressed award at a Japanese jewelry exhibition.

The nine-member band received a special prize in the women’s category for best dressers at the 23rd International Jewellery (this is the official spelling) Japan (IJT) 2012, which opened Wednesday at Odaiba, Tokyo.

Hiroshi Mizohata, commissioner of Japan Tourism Agency, presented the award.

“We hope to shine through our music like gems,” said Seohyun on behalf of her group members upon accepting the mention.

Popular Japanese footballer Keisuke Honda received the men’s best dresser award. Last year Korean movie star Won Bin won the prize while in 2010 “hallyu” (Korean wave) actor Lee Byung-hun was chosen. This thus marks the third consecutive year a hallyu star was honored at the jewelry event.
