‘Gangnam Style’ put on Time’s popular word list

‘Gangnam Style’ has been put on the Internet dictionary on popular English words.

U.S. magazine Time reported Thursday in its Internet edition that ‘Gangnam Style’ has been selected as one of the NewsFeed’s “weekly highlight of our vocabulary,” also introducing its meaning, “a manner associated with lavish lifestyles in Seoul’s Gangnam district.”

“This definition is adapted from an Urban Dictionary entryan increasingly popular entry since South Korean rapper PSY released a cheeky music video celebrating ‘Gangnam style,’ the magazine said.

“In it, he does a signature “horse-riding dance,” which has made “K-pop”Korean pop musicthe toast of trend-watchers.”

This week Britney Spears even got in on the equine action … which was as weird as it sounds, and a great deal more charming.
