Free bus ride from Seoul to Gyeongju and Jeonju for international tourists

According to the South Korean tourism organisation

Starting from June 1, the Visit Korea Committee will be providing a free shuttle bus service for international tourists that will travel along two separate routes: one to Gyeonju and one to Jeonju. Gyeongju, the 1000 year-old capital of the Silla Kingdom (B.C. 57 - A.D. 935) and Jeonju, a city widely known for its historic architectural sites, ancient relics, and traditional festivals, are two of Korea’s most famous historical towns.

The free shuttle buses to Gyeongju and Jeonju (28 seats each) leave from the Gwanghwamun area in downtown Seoul at 8 a.m., every day of the week except Monday. To make the travel experience even more comfortable, the limousine buses are equipped with an Internet connection, DVD systems with personal earphones, and various tourist guidebooks.

The same free bus program will be made available from Busan starting from July 1, with bus routes to Gyeongju.

Those who want to use the free service must sign up in advance through the Visit Korea Committee official home page at www.visitkoreayear.com (two tickets per person). If more than 28 people make reservations for any given day, there will be a random drawing to decide the winners of the free tickets. Winners will be announced on the homepage or individually notified by phone.
