T-ara to tour 6 cities in Japan, release album in summer

T-ara, one of the hottest K-pop acts in Korea, will embark on a six-city tour in June, its agency Core Contents Media announced on the group’s Japanese website, Thursday.

The first concert will take place in Nagoya on June 19, and the seven-member act will proceed to Osaka for three nights, Fukuoka for two, then Sendai and Sapporo for one each. A two-night affair at Tokyo’s iconic Budokan venue will take place on July 25 and 26.

Since their successful Japanese debut last September with the local-language rendition of their hit single “Bo Peep Bo Peep,” T-ara have followed up with additional releases, “YAYAYA” in November and “Roly Poly” in February which were also taken from their Korean discography.

“We have plans to release an album in the summer,” said a spokeswoman, confirming press reports but added that there were no definite dates or track lists at this time.

If the 11 dates were to sell out, the total number of spectators would be around 40,000.

The group’s most recent Korean single, “Lovey-Dovey,” topped several on- and offline charts in Korea.
